Instrumental Music

Private music lessons are available on weekdays between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm or when the student’s schedule allows.  Details about lesson times and costs are available from the school office.

String Orchestra and Advanced Small Ensemble - Timothy Carroll
Mr. Carroll has degrees from Temple University in music education and violin performance.   He also plays Irish and Bluegrass fiddle as well as instruments from around the world.  He offers instruction in violin/fiddle, viola, cello and double bass.

Piano Lessons – Kathryn Lort
Ms. Lort is our K – 12 music and choir instructor.  She is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in piano performance.  She offers instruction in piano.

Piano Lessons – Akiko Turley
Mrs. Turley has earned a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the Peabody Conservatory and was awarded the Lillian Gutman Memorial Prize.  She is an active chamber musician, solo performer and teacher and has performed for audiences internationally.  She was featured at the Rossborough Music Festival and The “Peabody’s Finest” Series of the Church of the Epiphany in Washington, DC.  She offers instruction in piano.

Band instruments – Arlen Pfenninger
Mr. Pfenninger has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Asbury University and a Master of Music in Music Education from Southern Methodist University.  He offers instruction in flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone and bells/percussion.
